It's Okay to Walk Away
There's a time for everything under the sun. There are seasons in life where you realize a particular thing isn't for you. When that happens, know it's okay to walk away or change your mind to pursue another interest. Somewhere down the line, we've been taught that changing our minds is bad or that it means we're giving up. Maybe it's just a realization that something isn't or no longer is for you.
We've all been placed on this planet with certain desires, gifts and skills. Why spend your life stuck in something that doesn't edify those because you feel like it's too late? It's never too late to change up your life. It doesn't mean you're a quitter. It doesn't mean you're a failure or you're indecisive. It just means that you know what you are and what you are not.

When growing up, there were so many careers that I wanted to try: firefighter, pediatrician, psychologist and the list continues. As I learned more about myself, I realized why so many of those career paths wouldn't have worked for me. After years of trying to figure it out, I’ve finally found what I want to do but with each new life experience my aspirations are constantly being tailored to fit who I am.
Maybe it’s the idealist in me, but I truly believe that you should exist where your happiness lies. People are not one trick ponies. Each person is filled with ideas and different interests that they should allow themselves to pursue. The more you understand who you are, the better you'll know what works for you, but it's a process.

Don't let anyone (including yourself) make you stay in a box that's not meant for you. People will tell you things aren’t a good idea because they are afraid themselves. Don't allow the fears of others to hold you back. Whether it’s something as small as changing your hair--or in my case going bald (read about it here)--or making a career change to a completely different industry, go for it! Life is about trial and error, but eventually you'll be exactly where you're meant to be.
