Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Decorating has begun in the Aye & Bee household and it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! In the two years since my move to LA, I left the Christmas decorating to my mom when I went  home for the holidays. I'd say it made for a poor build-up to the excitement the season brings, but this year is different thanks to my roommate--creating an atmosphere is just her thing and I'm fine going along for the ride.

To set the mood, we had to turn on the classics. Below you'll find a playlist of our Christmas decorating favorites.

Before a garland went up, Aye and I started on the cookies while our other roommate, Nicholette, started on the tree. I haven't used cookie cutters since I was a kid, so I had a great time pressing trees, snowflakes and a snowman that looked suspiciously like Ghostface Chillah (aka the Snapchat logo) into the batter.

Since Nicholette's our little atmosphere creator, she had the great idea to frost the tree to make it look like we cut it down after a fresh snowfall.

And then started adding the lights, ornaments and "presents" to the tree.

*"presents"- the gifts you got really excited about as a kid until you went to open it and realized your mom just wrapped an empty box. So disappointing!

Finally, the good stuff. Hot chocolate: The Adult Edition--peep the Irish Cream--and cookies!
